Taking Jack on his porch
I pulled into his driveway, it’s a nice house, a craftsman, big front verandah or porch. It’s a got several large shrubs that block the direct view of the porch, itself. Four concrete steps lead up to the wooden deck, not original but durable, so someone in the past replaced the original wooden steps. On the right as you climb up, the smaller side has a single deck chair and a small table. To left, are two chairs with a table between them. Jack is walking back and forth in front of them, talking on the phone. He waves me in and points to a cooler of beers sitting under the table. I can hear his side of the conversation and from what I gather, he’s talking to his son He’s dressed in flip flops, shorts (sweat pant material shorts) and a tee.
